What is B-Pulse Therapy?B-Pulse uses PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) technology to deliver high-intensity electromagnetic energy that stimulates the pelvic floor muscles. This technology causes thousands of deep muscle contractions, which help strengthen and tone these muscles in ways that typical exercises cannot.
-
What is the B-Pulse chair? The B-Pulse chair is a special chair equipped with an electromagnetic field system to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.
-
How does the B-Pulse chair work? The B-Pulse chair uses a copper coil under the seat to generate an electromagnetic field in the pelvic region, which causes involuntary muscle contractions.
-
How many treatments will I need? The baseline recommendation is 6 treatments of 30 minutes. For long-standing issues, more treatments may be needed. For prevention or toning, one treatment may be enough.
-
Does it hurt? No, the B-Pulse treatment is painless and comfortable. You’ll feel vibrations in the pelvic area as the muscles contract automatically.
-
Is there any downtime? You can resume normal activities immediately and remain fully dressed during the session.
-
Are there side effects of PEMF?Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) can be beneficial for pelvic floor therapy, especially for conditions like pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and related issues. However, while it is generally considered safe, there are potential side effects and considerations specific to pelvic floor therapy: Potential Side Effects 1. Mild Discomfort or Pain: Some patients may experience temporary discomfort or a sensation of pressure in the pelvic region during or after the therapy session. This is typically mild and subsides quickly. 2. Fatigue: Users might feel fatigued after a session, especially if they are new to the therapy. This can be a sign of the body’s adjustment and healing response. 3. Muscle Spasms: As the therapy stimulates muscle activity, some individuals may experience temporary muscle spasms or increased tension in the pelvic floor muscles. 4. Increased Urgency or Frequency: Some users report an increase in urinary urgency or frequency, particularly if the therapy is stimulating the pelvic region. This effect is usually temporary. 5. Temporary Worsening of Symptoms: In rare cases, individuals with chronic pelvic pain or dysfunction may notice a temporary exacerbation of symptoms as their body responds to the therapy. This can be part of the healing process. 6. Headaches or Dizziness: Some users may experience mild headaches or dizziness, particularly if the intensity of the therapy is too high. 7. Nausea: Although rare, some individuals may feel mildly nauseated after treatment.
-
When will I notice results? Results start showing within a few days, with full effects appearing 2-4 weeks after the last treatment.
-
Who is NOT a candidate for B-Pulse?Individuals with electronic implants such as a pacemaker are not eligible. Any of the following are also contraindicated: cancer, pregnancy, fever, pulmonary embolism. Those with pulmonary insufficiency, heart conditions, previous stroke, in remission of cancer within 5 years, phlebitis and epilepsy are eligible only with their doctor’s permission. If you have metal implants in the pelvic region that also precludes you from the treatment. Similarly, treatment should be avoided if you have a copper IUD (non-metal IUD acceptable), an implantable chamber catheter, bruise, wound, recent surgery, nerve damage, muscle injury or hernia
-
What can I expect during a treatment session? You’ll sit in a chair and remove any metal objects. Based on the area being treated (glutes or pelvic floor), the technician will guide your positioning. You can control the intensity of the contractions using a handheld controller during the 30-minute session. Thick fabrics can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. For optimal results, you may be asked to wear lighter fabrics We recommend wearing comfortable clothes to your session. You may also want to bring a book or your phone to stay occupied.
-
Can I use the chair while I’m on my menstrual cycle?Yes, using the chair will have no interference with your cycle. You may wear a tampon, pad or diva cup.
-
What’s the difference between B-Pulse and similar chairs? The B-Pulse has a Tesla power of 8, while other chairs range from 1-3.
-
Can I trust this device?Yes, it is approved by Health Canada. B-Pulse Electromagnetic Induction technology has been widely recognized and approved for use in the aesthetic and wellness industry for several years. It is developed and manufactured under strict quality standards and has been granted regulatory approvals based on the region where it is used including Health Canada. Our team ensures that the technology we use meets all regional and global regulatory requirements to deliver safe and effective results.
-
Do I need my Doctor's approval? The only time you need doctors approval for this treatment would be if you have one of the following conditions: · Pulmonary embolism · Heart Trouble · Stroke · Remission of cancer (less than 5 years) · Phlebitis · Epilepsy

-
Will B-Pulse therapy improve my sex life?B-Pulse technology, as described for its general benefits, focuses on enhancing wellness through improved circulation, muscle stimulation, and recovery. While it is not specifically designed as a sexual health product, certain aspects of improved physical wellness, such as better blood flow, muscle tone, and relaxation, can have positive effects on sexual function. Here’s how: 1. Improved Circulation: Enhanced blood flow can contribute to better sexual health, as adequate circulation is essential for arousal and maintaining function in both men and women. 2. Muscle Toning: If B-Pulse improves pelvic floor muscles through stimulation, this could enhance sexual experiences, as stronger pelvic muscles can lead to better control and intensity during intercourse. 3. Stress Reduction: Since stress can negatively impact libido, the relaxation benefits from using B-Pulse might improve mood and lower stress, indirectly benefiting one’s sex life. While it may not be a direct treatment for sexual health, B-Pulse’s benefits on overall well-being could enhance aspects related to intimacy and sexual satisfaction.

-

-
Can I get my eyebrows redo if I've had them done somewhere else?Of course! We provide this service to a lot of clients to correct shape, size, and colour. We do ask you come in for a consultation so we can evaluate the skin and area.
-

-
What do I do for aftercare? For each service you get you will recieve instructions as well as aftercare product to ensure the best results!
-
Do I need to take time off work? No, unless your job consists of you being in water or causes you to sweat excessively, which will affect the healing.
-
How long will take to heal?As with any procedure, healing varies from person to person. It usually takes 5 to 10 days for the skin to regrow and slough off. During this time the top layer of skin is healing with the pigment and can shed. After the shedding stops the pigment will start to fade and propoerly heal into the skin. After 30 days the process is complete for the majority of people.
-
What if I don't like it?As trained cosmetics and paramedical tattoo artists we take pride in our work and make sure your brows are symmetrical and approved before beginning. It is important to remember the first few days your brows will be very dark, which often shocks people. Also you are having this procedure to add brows to thin or non existant brows, so it can be a bit of a shock to see yourself with brows all of a sudden. It is important to give yourself time to heal and to also get used to your new look. After your initial appointment we have your touch up appointment to perfect and go over any areas that need more pigment. We can darken your brows up if you feel they are too light, or add more density to your brows. Lips can have more pigment added to brighten but we will not go past your natural lip line as over time it does not heal well. Your treatment area takes time to heal, try not to prejudge before it has had time to heal. Please remember not everyone heals the same and no guarantees are made.
-
Are you trained and certified? Our cosmetic & paramedical tattoo artist Janet is highly trained. As a medical esthetician she has a deep understand of the skin and different conditions. She is BBP Certified, and trained and certified in Microblading, Machine Brows, Lip Blush, and Paramedical Tattoo. We encourage all clients to ask as many questions they want during the process to help them feel as ease and see how we can educate and help them

What is Electrolysis?Electrolysis is a permanent form of hair removal, it uses a fine needle inserted into each hair follicle and an electrical current is applied to the follicle root, the root is destroyed preventing new hair to grow. We use a machine called the Evolution 5 to do electrolysis, it is one of the most up to date machines on the market, which combines traditional electrolysis and thermolysis. Thermolysis uses high frequency instead of galvanic to remove hair. Depending on the area of the body, and texture of hair will depend on which frequency we use to treat. This method of hair removal is permanent because it will coagulate the papilla (hair bulb) when the bulb is destroyed new hair cannot grow back. The great thing with electrolysis is that it doesn’t matter what colour or texture the hair is. We can treat grey, blonde, red, and dark hair, as well as the finest to thickest hair. Most areas of the body can be treated, most popular include chin, upper and under lip, eyebrows, ears, and underarms. The only area we cannot treat is inside the nose, or inside the ears.
-
Is Electrolysis safe?Yes, our equipment is automatically controlled meaning the skin won’t be over-exposed, we use disposables needles for each session, and dispose of them in a sharps container. We analyze the skin, before, during, and after every visit to ensure your skin is taken care of. Five Senses has the right to stop or refuse service at any point.
-
How many sessions will I need? The session amount depends on the area being treated, the amount of hair, and the length of sessions. For the majority of people, you can expect to do electrolysis for 1-2 years. The first few weeks would be more concentrated, and as you see hair growth you can come in to remove hairs that appear. Hair grows in three stages, in order to have a successful removal, your hair will need to be in the first stage anagen with the bulb intact. For this reason, multiple sessions are needed in order to guarantee success. If you have tweezed or waxed in the past you may have distorted follicles, we can still treat you however you may need more sessions depending on how the follicle is distorted in your skin.
-
What are the side effects? Most people will have mild-moderate side effects from the treatment depending on skin sensitivity. The main one is redness, mild irritation, and erythema which can last a few minutes to a few hours. Welts can happen as well, they will fade away on their own, bruising can occur if you tend to bruise easily. Crusting and scabbing are common and can take up to 48 hours to show, if this happens, apply Polysporin, and wear SPF.
-
Is it painful? With any hair removal procedure, you will feel some discomfort or pain depending on your pain tolerance. We always recommend doing a 15-minute session to start to see how you feel. Please stay hydrated before your treatment, this will allow the needle to be easily inserted into the follicle. You can apply moisturizer as well for a few days before treatment to allow the skin to be hydrated and nourished. You will not feel the needle being inserted into the follicle; you may feel the heat or chemical reaction in the follicle, however, i.t is advised for women to avoid coming 1 week prior, and the week of their menstrual cycle as you may feel more pain or tenderness. When we start each session, we will evaluate your skin and pain tolerance. We can lower the intensity to make you as comfortable as possible. Please do not apply any topical numbing agent to the skin, as it is imperative that you feel sensations to make this a safe treatment. Please do not take aspirin to help with pain as this can thin the blood and we won’t be able to do the treatment.
-
Will all the hair be gone after one treatment?Hair grows in three different cycles, which is why multiple treatments are needed. You can always wax or shave the area and come in after you start to see hair growth to make sure we get the hair in the correct phase.
-
I’m afraid of needles, could I get this treatment?"Although we do use a needle to perform the treatment the skin isn’t being punctured or pierced, the needle is the size of your hair so it slips easily into the follicle. The majority of people who are scared of giving blood or needles can receive this treatment without any issues.
-
Should I shave the hair? No! In order to have electrolysis we need hair growth long enough to tweeze, if you are unsure if it’s too long you can leave it and we can trim if needed.
-
Can I bring someone with me?If you are under 18 a parent or guardian is allowed only, no friends. Above the age of 18 no one is permitted in the room unless it’s due to a medical condition.
-
Can I use numbing cream?Numbing creams can sometimes thin the skin, and interfere with the process, so we ask you do not use these for safety concerns.
-
What can be treated with Evolution 5?Broken Capillaries- On the face Ruby Points- On the body Spider Angioma – On the body Skin Tags- On the face, neck, and body Blotches- On the face Milia- On the face
-
How many treatments does it take?It varies from person to person and the size of the affected area to be treated. Usually, 1-3 sessions are needed. For larger ruby points and broken capillaries, more than 1 session may be needed.
-
Is it safe? When doing this treatment we use only sterile single-use stylus tips that are disposed of immediately after. The treatment is performed by professionally certified technicians who observe the highest standard of health and hygiene. Skin reactions are minimal and disappear within a few days.
-

-

Do your gift cards or gift certificates expire? Our regular purchased gift cards and gift certificates do not expire. If we offer you a promotional gift card or gift certificate it may have an expiry date which is clearly defined. For example, if we offer a BOGO certificate, or birthday certificate it will come with conditions and an expiry date.
-
Is it better to pick a service for a gift card or a dollar amount? It is suggested that you choose a dollar amount. Often you may pick a service and your guest may want another service or want to try something new. By choosing an amount instead of an exact service you are really offering your guest a choice of over 200 services instead of just one, giving them an opportunity to decide. Also if your guest doesn't use the gift card for a period of time, you run the risk of them having to pay for any price adjustment on the service.
-
Do I have to pay extra for the gift box and gift that is included? No way! We offer the gift card in our gift box along with some chocolates and a small gift so you can hand over a gift instead of just a card. It's a win-win, and you don't even have to wrap anything!
-
Can I use the gift card on anything at the spa?You can use it on all products, spa, medi-spa and men's services. It can not be used on medical services such as Chiroprator, Acupuncture or Physiotherapy. If it is used for an RMT massage, an insurance receipt will not be issued as the governing body of RMT massages the CMTO does not allow for services paid with a gift card to be claimed for insurance purposes.
-
I have a WAYSPA gift card - what can I use it on?Please note that WAYSPA gift cards can be redeemed for regular priced SPA treatments only, not redeemable on any other services, specials, promotions or package priced services. When using WAYSPA gift cards, the full face value of the card is redeemed at one time, there is no carryover of funds with WAYSPA cards. We can issue a Five Senses gift card for any remaining value, but a 20% service fee will be subtracted from the remaining value. WAYSPA Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for medi-spa services, massage, chiropractor, or physiotherapy.
-

We do require a medical and health history form to be filled out prior to treatment during the consultation in order to give you the best treatment results and make sure you are an acceptable candidate for the treatment.
-
What areas can be treated?Back, chest, face and spot treatment.
-
What are the side effects?Side effects include deepening of the color of the lesions, tenderness to the lesions (if cystic), blanching/greying of vessels and/or vascular scars, intense edema, and erythema lasting 5 - 10 days may occur.
-
Is it painful? Some people experience some discomfort, but the cooling crystal that is integrated in the Venus Versa™ IPL applicator aids with client comfort.
-
My skin is quite dark, can I still get laser hair removal done?"Our Venus Epileve laser can treat ALL skin tones safely.
-
Who can't get laser hair removal? You are on your period, for brazilian You are using any Retinol products You are using Acne medication Accutane. You have any kind of sunburn, laser burn, pustules or breakouts on the area to be waxed. You are currently going through chemotherapy or radiation You are taking photosensitizing medication You have a history of keloid scarring You have epilepsy You are pregnant or breast feeding (we recommend waiting 6 months post breast feeding to have hormones settle down) You have grey or blonde hair (electrolysis is a better option) Tattoo in treatment area You’re under 18
-
How often do I need to come in to be effective? It is recommended that you come in every 4 weeks.
-
How many sessions will I require?Laser hair removal can not be totally effective in one treatment as hair growth on your body is always in different stages. Most people need a minimum of 6 - 10 sessions depending on area and hair density.
-
Do I need to shave if I am coming in for laser hair removal. We encourage clients to shave before hand, and we always check the area to ensure that you haven't missed a spot. If you don't shave, please note that our laser sessions are time based and this may cause us to add extra time if we need to shave entire areas. Please avoid waxing, tweezing, epilating or using hair removal creams between treatments or 4 weeks prior.
-
What do I need to do to prepare for Laser Hair Removal? If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, you should limit tweezing, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. That is because the laser targets the hair’s roots which are temporarily removed by waxing or tweezing. You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely. If you are planning on getting pregnant avoid getting laser hair removal.
-
What about care after laser hair removal? We recommend using an exfoliant 24-48 hours post laser on areas neck down to prevent ingrowns. You can use light creams or serums to nourish and hydrate the skin. Post laser for 24-48 hours avoid the sun, hot tubs, pools, saunas, exercising, and applying deodorant.
-
Can I use numbing cream?Numbing creams can sometimes thin the skin, and interfere with the process, so we ask you do not use these for safety concerns.
-
How does the Venus Epileve work?Diode lasers are the gold standard of Laser Hair Removal as they can treat all skin types safely and effectively. Using 1 wavelength creates a unified energy output, the 800nm wavelength is optimal as it targets the melanin in the hair without harming surrounding tissue. A hand-held laser device sends out pulsed light onto the skin to seek out the dark pigment of the hair, and it impairs the hair follicle. Hair will begin to fall out within the next 10-14 days after the treatment. Hair grows in different stages: growing, resting and shedding. Because all of the hair isn’t on the same stage at any given time, multiple treatments are needed to get the hair in the growth phase, for the laser to be most effective.
-
Are there any side effects? The discomfort level varies on the type of laser used, the person’s hair type, the body area getting treated, and one’s personal threshold. Getting a laser hair removal treatment can be compared to a rubber band snapping against the skin. The first session generally hurts the most and then subsides with further visits. People with very thick, dark hair often feel a bit more pain than those with thin hair because darker hair absorbs more of the laser light. However, after the second treatment, clients generally don’t feel as much pain.
-
What type of wax do you use?We use hard wax on the face, underarms and Brazilian because of the sensitive skin in these areas. Hard wax adheres to the hair and not the skin, making in gentler on the skin. We use a cream based soft wax for the rest of the body.
-
How long does your hair have to be for waxing? We recommend 3/4 of an inch for most areas. Upper lip and eyebrows can be shorter.
-
Can I use numbing cream before waxing? Please don’t! Numbing creams can interfere with the application of the wax, we ask you avoid using them.
-
How long should I let my hair grow? This really is down to individual hair growth. For legs we recommend that you leave hair to grow for 3-4 weeks to ensure that both of your growth cycles (hair grows in 2 growth cycles) are through therefore ensuring a nice thorough wax. For Brazilians, if you haven’t shaved, waxed or trimmed in over 6 months we recommend trimming slightly to make it a more comfortable experience. We need a minimum of ¾ of a inch of hair. We also recommend that if it’s your first wax ever that you don’t leave it literally just before the big occasion – i.e. Just before a holiday/your wedding. We recommend that you have a couple with us before the big one to ensure that the most uncomfortable one is out of the way plus after your second wax the results will be even more thorough as the first wax may not have caught both of your two hair growth cycles.
-
When can't I wax?We cannot wax you if any of the following applies to you: You are on your period for Brazilian waxing. You are using any Retinol products i.e. Retin A on any area you are looking to have waxed. You are using Acne medication Accutane. You have any kind of sunburn, laser burn, pustules or breakouts on the area to be waxed. You are diabetic. You are currently going through chemotherapy or radiation. However, we can wax you if you supply a doctor’s note saying it’s okay for you to wax. Please can we ask that you discreetly disclose all medical conditions you have before we wax you, especially any STDs.
-
What about care after waxing? We recommend using an exfoliant 24-48 hours post wax on areas neck down to prevent ingrowns. You can use light creams or serums to nourish and hydrate the skin. Post wax for 24 hours avoid heavy sweating such as working out to avoid irritation. For facial waxing we recommend not wearing make up until the next day to prevent breakouts and irritation.
-
I’m taking acne medication can I get a facial or waxing? If you’re taking accutane you need to wait 1 year after stopping treatment to receive any facials, waxing or medical treatments. If you are taking (prescribed or OTC) Tretinoin, Adapalene,m Benzoyl Peroxide or Tazarotene medication let us know beforehand, depending on percentage, when used and when stopped we may be able to perform a facial. If you are taking antibiotics we recommend waiting until you wax to reduce any risks and side effects.
-
What should I expect the first 1 or 2 times that I get waxed?Avoid getting waxed for the first time, or after a long time before a vacation, wedding or special occasion. The first 1-2 times you get waxed we may not be able to remove all the hair due to hair growth cycles, as well you may experience more irritation your first time. Don’t be nervous, we’re here to make your session as comfortable as possible and you can ask questions at anytime.

What type of wax do you use?We use hard wax on the face, underarms and Brazilian because of the sensitive skin in these areas. Hard wax adheres to the hair and not the skin, making in gentler on the skin. We use a cream based soft wax for the rest of the body.

-
Can I bring someone in the room with me?Sorry, we do not allow anyone else into the room when you are having waxing done*. It can distract the esthetican and actually make a first time waxer feel more anxious. We will endeavour to make your experience as comfortable as possible. *A parent or guardian may be in the room for anyone under the age of 18, or for someone who has communication difficulties or a medical condition.

Should I trim before I come in for a Brazilian? No its fine, leave it up to us and well do everything for you. We have often found that if you try to trim before you visit more often than not it gets cut too short making our job harder.
-
How long should I let my hair grow?
-

Post wax for 24 hours avoid heavy sweating such as working out to avoid irritation. For facial waxing we recommend not wearing make up until the next day to prevent breakouts and irritation.
